Advertising Sales Representative (Part-Time)

Overview:

My client is a growing print and digital media company based out of the Maryland area with publications that cater to the business community in Central Maryland and senior citizens in Annapolis. As a trusted resource of news and information, we are seeking a passionate and results-driven part-time advertising sales representative to contribute to our continued growth.

Location: Remote, preference to candidates near the Anne Arundel and Howard counties

Compensation: $15-19 per hour, 10% percent base commission on all sales.

Hours: 20 Hours A Week

Responsibilities:

  • Drive advertising sales by prospecting, contacting, and securing partnerships with local businesses targeting the Senior community.

  • Meet and exceed sales targets through effective communication of the magazine's value proposition and advertising opportunities.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their marketing needs and providing tailored solutions through magazine ad placements.

  • Provide excellent customer service to build long-term partnerships and repeat business.

  • Provide regular feedback to the management team regarding market insights and potential areas for growth.

  • Familiarity with the Senior community in Howard and Anne Arundel counties is a plus.

  • If meeting with potential clients or attending events, represent the company professionally.

  • Attend industry events, community gatherings, and relevant business functions to expand these publications’ reach and foster connections with potential advertisers.

  • Actively engage in networking to increase awareness of the publications among potential advertisers.

  • Proven track record in sales, with a passion for meeting and exceeding targets.

  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey the magazine's value proposition to potential advertisers.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and thrive in a commission-based environment.

  • Familiarity with print advertisements

  • Familiarity with digital advertisements (email, website, social media, etc.)

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and local business developments to identify new opportunities for advertising partnerships.

  • With prior approval, candidates will be compensated for business expenses, such as internet access, mileage, etc.)

    Tools:

    • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, etc.)

    • Experience with Asana or a similar project management tool is a plus

    • Must have own phone, computer, and internet connection
