Role Title: Business Development Manager – Retail Centers
Location: DMV Market (Remote/Hybrid)
Salary: $75,000+ (Base)
Compensation Potential: Additional $30,000–$50,000 in commissions during the first year.

A growing roofing company based in the DMV area is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead their growth initiatives in the retail centers segment. This position involves identifying opportunities, building relationships with key decision-makers, and expanding the company’s footprint in the commercial roofing market. The ideal candidate must have prior experience selling into retail strip centers or working with property managers and owners in the commercial property space.

This hybrid/remote position requires residency in the DMV market. Properties and decision-makers will primarily be local, though some owners may reside along the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Growth

    • Develop and execute plans to meet sales targets and grow the company’s presence in the retail centers market.

  2. Market Research & Lead Generation

    • Conduct research to identify potential clients and market opportunities.

    • Generate leads through networking, referrals, and direct outreach.

  3. Client Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, property managers, and decision-makers.

    • Provide tailored solutions to meet client needs and objectives.

  4. Sales Process Management

    • Develop persuasive proposals and presentations for potential clients.

    • Negotiate contracts and close deals to secure long-term partnerships.

  5. Collaboration & Networking

    • Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.

    • Represent the company at industry events to enhance visibility and build connections.

  6. Reporting & Analysis

    • Monitor sales performance, analyze market trends, and refine strategies to optimize revenue.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • Proven success in business development or sales roles.

    • Extensive experience selling into retail strip centers/strip malls or multi-location commercial properties.

    • Familiarity with working alongside REITs or property management firms is highly desirable.

  • Skills:

    • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.

    • Strategic thinking and data-driven decision-making skills.

    • Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office.
