Freelance Mid-Level WordPress Developer - Remote

Overview:

An Annapolis-based boutique branding agency is looking for an experienced WordPress developer who is passionate about creating engaging and user-friendly websites. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with WordPress development, possess a deep understanding of UX/UI principles, and demonstrate proficiency in graphic design and front-end development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain WordPress websites using best practices and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with designers to implement visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces.

  • Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements.

  • Ensure websites are optimized for performance, accessibility, and SEO.

  • Utilize Elementor and Divi WordPress tools to create dynamic page layouts and designs.

  • Optimize images and graphics for web usage to enhance site performance.

  • Implement mobile-first responsive design to ensure compatibility across devices.

  • Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in web development and design.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients, seeking feedback and advice when needed.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 Years of Experience: Demonstrated experience in WordPress web development.

  • Comfortable working with HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, and APIs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Experience with Elementor and Divi for page building and theme customization.

  • Understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices for graphic design.

  • Knowledgeable about typography, grid systems, color theory, and composition.

  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and ensuring ADA compliance.

  • Understanding of SEO best practices to optimize website content.

  • Experience in designing and developing websites with a mobile-first approach.

  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.

  • Collaborative: Open to feedback and collaboration with team members and clients.

Note: A strong portfolio showcasing previous WordPress projects and UX/UI design work is required to be considered for this position.
