Here are 3 ways to find local talent for your business. If you are a founder, business owner, or in a position of leadership of a company/startup you might have a reason to hire local or regional-specific talent.

1. Utilize LinkedIn (Recruiter, Recruiter Lite, or Sales Navigator) to source talent by using specific geographic filters in your headhunting outreach strategy.

2. Provide as much clarity as possible in the job description around the geographic requirements. Your job title can provide clarity around the preferred location position. eg "Data Scientist, (Maryland, Washington DC, Virginia Based)"

3. Offer relocation, Depending on your company's timelines and budgets, you might be able to offer relocation. Relocation packages can include things like signing bonuses, moving accommodations, and a reasonable timeline for the candidate to complete the relocation.

(Relocation can be tricky and can require a lot of high-touch communication with your candidates. Make sure an employment attorney can review the documents candidates will be signing)
